Big field competes in youth dressage championships

More than 220 riders took part in the four-day competition at Boneo Park, with some scoring their personal bests.

BONEO Park hosted the 2021 2Construct Victorian Youth Dressage Championships and they consisted of four days of fantastic competition and collaboration.

Despite cool conditions more than 220 competitors descended on the Boneo Park Equestrian Centre on the Mornington Peninsula for the State Championship competition for riders under 25 years of age.

In the FEI Classes, the Marcus Oldham College Small Tour Championship was won by Louisa Smith and HP Fresco.

This combination also received the stunning Deb Hamid and Kevin J Hitchins award.

Gruyere teenager Bella Plumridge rode her Illawong Harvest Moon to dominate the Stable Ground FEI Pony classes and take home the Championship after three impressive wins.

Caitlyn Porter had a great few days on Der Beste taking out the overall Apsley Equestrian Junior Championship.

Jessica Dertell was named Riddells Creek Dressage FEI Young Rider Champion aboard Eskara De Jeu and the Victorian Dressage Young Rider Squad and Development most successful combination.

Lindsey Ware and Aristede took out the 2Construct FEI Championship.

The Hi Form Pony Preliminary Championship winner was Annie Creed and Brookside Shazam while The Dancing Horse Pony Novice Championship went to Grace Riddell and Knock Out O.

The Pony Elementary Championship was won by Isla Evans and Dracmoore Firestorm.

Jazi French and Urodel Du Texier took out the Marcus Oldham College Preliminary Championship, Senior Interschool Novice Championship and the Taylor Farley Award for the highest placed Junior in the Novice Championship. Novice Champs were Alicia Ryan and Merricks Sonique, while the Elementary Championship was won by Charlotte Richardson and Brierley Scarlett.

The Leader Equine Medium Championship for ponies and horses went to Amy Bachmann and SWS Debutante while the Ellanbrae Park Advanced Championship was won by Jasmine Abernethy and Rebel M.
