A grazing property near Jingellic in the Upper Murray sold under the hammer for $5 million last week.
The 617ha property, Mauna Loa at Ournie in NSW, was snapped up by a family out of the area.
The auction attracted four bidders and was attended by about 30 people.
Selling agent Geoff Palmer from Ray White said the price was about what he expected.
“We were happy with result,” Mr Palmer said.
“It is undulating country in which about 200 cows and calves have been run”.
Mr Palmer was unable to disclose the name of the buyer, but said they were not a local operator.
Mauna Loa features 18 main paddocks, 28 stock water dams and steel cattle yards that can comfortably work 80-100 cattle.
