Texans Gary and Dianne Heavin sell their NSW Jugiong Heavins Farms for millions
An American couple have made millions from the sale of their Australian farms. The properties sold for prices which were above expectation and were snapped up by locals.
A NSW farm owned by Texans Gary and Dianne Heavin, co-founders of the global fitness franchise Curves, has sold under the hammer this morning for $8.7 million.
Riverbend at Jugiong is a grazing property spanning across 1548ha.
Bidding for the property opened at $7,600,000 and quickly reached $8.7 million – well above the anticipated price.
The Weekly Times reported last month Riverbend was expected to fetch between $7 million and $8 million.
Riverbend has 7.5km of frontage to the Murrumbidgee River and an estimated carrying capacity of 500 cows and 1500 Merino breeding ewes.
Riverbend was one of four grazing properties sold by the Heavins.
The four properties are adjacent to each other and cover a combined 3697ha.
The second largest farm, Donna Valley, sold prior to auction to neighbours while Tooracool sold under the hammer this morning for $3.5 million and Woolaway sold for $2,020,000.
Buyers are yet to be disclosed.
The Heavins, who also run a ranch in Texas, told The Weekly Times their properties, which have Murrumbidgee River frontage, are located in “one of the most beautiful and peaceful parts of the world”.
“When you run a worldwide business enterprise, finding a sanctuary is an important part of maintaining your sanity,” Mr Heavin said.
The sale was marketed by David Nolan from Webster Nolan.
