Teys family list Baratrina, Hartee and Clyde in Winton Queensland for sale
A farm owned by a meat processor has been listed for sale. The property, which has the ability to run 9000 head of cattle, will be sold via expressions of interest.
A PROPERTY owned by the Teys family, one of the country’s biggest meat processors, has been listed for sale.
Baratria at Winton in Western Queensland, an aggregation of three properties also including Hartree and Clyde, will be sold via expression of interest.
The 77,747ha beef cattle property, with a carrying capacity of 9000 head, has been owned by the Teys family for 28 years.
The Teys family, in a 50/50 split with the Cargill Company, run Teys Australia – the second largest meat processor and exporter business in the country.
Selling agent JLL’s Geoff Warriner said Baratria’s size and location meant it would be appealing to overseas investors as well as neighbouring properties.
Mr Warriner was unable to disclose a price for the property.
“Since being acquired by the Teys family, Baratria has earned an enviable reputation for the consistent production of EU accredited cattle to domestic markets,” he said.
“Having undergone practical development and conservatively stocked over the past 18 years, Baratria is a turnkey opportunity with quality infrastructure, an abundance of water and available pasture”.
Expression of interest for Baratria close on September 17.
The property is being marketed for sale by JLL and Rural Property and Livestock.
