The storage and processing facility of a collapsed oilseed and grain processor in the NSW Riverina has been taken to market and is being sold by receivers.

Melbourne-based Oilseeds Australia Pty Ltd, owned the 40ha Hillston Mill, located at 516 Mossgiel Road, Hillston, before the company was plunged into liquidation in February last year.

Oilseeds Australia was headed up by managing director Dhruv Deepak Saxena- founder of the Riverina Oils and Bio-Energy crushing plant, located north of Wagga Wagga.

ASIC documents show a winding up order was issued against Oilseeds Australia on February 29 last year, with PwC’s William Honner and Andrew Scott appointed administrators.

Kenneth Whittingham is the receiver manager.

Hillston Mill had previously been used for crushing of oilseeds and manufacture of livestock feed pellets and related oil products.

The site offers a hardstand area hosting crushing and milling

Infrastructure and other structural improvements include 2000 sqm shed area, a major mill area, workshop, steam boiler and gas supply, air compressors, offices and added amenities.

Hillston Mill is 12km from the Hillston Cotton Gin and is within 185km from three other cotton gins and major grain depots within the region.

Colliers Agribusiness agents Adrienne Harvey, Ben Malden and

Matthew Meynell is handling the sale via offers to purchase closing Wednesday, March 12.

“Hillston Mill offers an exciting opportunity for an investor seeking to value add oilseed and grain commodities and, or requiring significant grain and agricultural commodity storage in the Hillston

area,” Ms Harvey said.

“The area is known for its broadacre row cropping, comprising winter cereal crops (wheat, barley and oats) and legumes (lucerne and vetch),” Mr Malden said.

“Irrigation water via the Lachlan River and Lower Lachlan Groundwater Aquifer allows for summer cropping enterprises such as cotton and maize. Beef cattle and sheep grazing are also major enterprises in the region.”
