Queensland farm Croydon Station sells for $80m
The latest major farm sales include a Queensland station selling for $80m, a property in NSW’s Mudgee exchanging hands and a Gippsland lifestyle farm hitting the market.
Two large rural properties have sold in the past week with one racking in tens of millions of dollars.
Croydon Station at Lotus Creek in central Queensland has sold for $80 million after it was listed for sale earlier this year.
And Warradundi aggregation in NSW’s Mudgee region has exchanged hands for an undisclosed price.
Croydon Station, which spans more than more than 59,690ha, was sold by the Acton family, who had owned the property since 1988.
It featured a homestead, managers residence, guest accommodation, two houses for employees and a workers quarters.
Warradundi aggregation, which is 5800ha in size, was sold by the Hanwha Group, a South Korean conglomerate which snapped up the property just two years ago for $25 million.
The aggregation is reportedly under contract to brothers John and Michael Borg, founders of manufacturing and recycling company Borg Group.
In Victoria, a mixed farming and lifestyle property in West Gippsland has hit the market with asking price of $1.4 million to $1.54 million (pictured).
The 19ha Nilma North property, owned by Michael and Anne Green, will be sold via expressions of interest closing August 5.
The couple purchased the property seven years ago after running a dairy farm in South Gippsland for 40 years and are planning to buy a larger property.
Meanwhile, the sale of Gina Rinehart’s portfolio of cattle stations – worth $300 million – is almost complete, with reports a buyer will be announced in the coming weeks.
The seven cattle stations, sprawling 1.876 million hectares of grazing country, are located in the Northern Territory and Western Australia and were listed for sale in early March and expressions of interest closed last week.
The sale will account for almost 20 per cent of the 10 million ha of cattle country owned by Ms Rinehart through Hancock Agriculture and S. Kidman & Co, of which she is the majority owner.
