A Queensland cattle station that sold for a whopping $35 million to a local has achieved the highest auction price by the selling agents this year. It’s one of a number of strong sales in recent months. Full details here.
THE cattle station Nardoo, northwest of Cloncurry in Queensland, has sold for $35 million.
The 97,500ha property was sold under the hammer via online auction with bidding opening at $20 million.
The property was sold by Peter and Ann Wollett and was reportedly bought by Sam Daniels – who is the managing director of his family’s stock and station agency, Brodie and Co, and his family’s cattle pastoral company.
The auction attracted 11 registered bidders.
Selling agent Bruce Douglas from Ray White said it was a strong campaign with a lot of interest all the way through.
“Interest came almost exclusively from larger grazier families around Queensland,” Mr Douglas said.
“It’s good cattle country and very tightly held, properties don’t come up very often in the area so buyers jumped on it.”
The sale represents the highest under the hammer price across Ray White this year.
Nardoo has a carry capacity of 8000 breeders and was sold with cattle included.
It come as the well-known Terrica aggregation of 15,990ha in the Darling Downs region of southeast Queensland sold to the Grimwade and Gordon partnership for $14 million.
Also recently sold was the almond orchard Mooral at Hillston in the NSW Riverina which made a huge $98 million — one of the biggest rural property deals of the year.
