A CROPPING and grazing property in the Riverina sold for $8.4 million under the hammer last week.

The property, Karbarook at Milbrulong, NSW sprawls across 954ha and was sold by Richard Simpson.

The land was first purchased by Mr Simpson’s mother’s family in 1930.

Karbarook features stunning views to the district landmark, The Rock.

“Originally, the property was a true mixed-farming enterprise, but we have tended to crop more,” Mr Simpson told The Weekly Times.

Improvements included the original four-bedroom, two-bathroom house, along with a tennis court, sheep yards, cattle yards, silos, a workshop and a number of machinery and hay sheds.

The property also has frontage to the Bullenbung Creek.

The sale was managed by Elders.

It comes as a sheep and grazing farm in the Wimmera sold under the hammer last week for $6.65 million — equating to $19,164 a hectare, or $7758 an acre.

The Miga Lake property, spanning 357ha, smashed price expectations, which were anticipated to be more than $4000 an acre.
