Australian expat billionaire Lord Michael Hintze has listed another slice of his mammoth agricultural portfolio for sale.

Lord Hintze, via MH Premium Farms (MHPF), is selling the 8111ha Mourabie portfolio, near Walgett in northern NSW.

Purchased by the UK hedge fund manager and philanthropist in late 2015, the Mourabie portfolio is expected to field offers greater than $30 million due to its dryland and irrigated cropping capabilities.

The major listing comes about a month after Lord Hintze listed his 7489ha northern NSW farm, Warrane for sale, with offers likely to reach the mid-$30 million range.

Under the name Michael Hintze Premiums Farms, Lord Hintze owns a portfolio comprising 40 farms across 16 aggregations, totalling 65,000 hectares across Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

The Mourabie portfolio comprises two properties within a 3km radius, the 4327ha Mourabie and 3784ha Bynia.

There are 1932ha of the portfolio developed for flood irrigation, 3327ha are used for dryland cropping, while the balance is used for grazing and support.

LAWD senior directors Col Medway and Danny Thomas are handling the sale via expressions of interest closing 12pm on May 24.

Mr Thomas said Mourabie was a “large-scale irrigated and dryland cropping opportunity”.

“It has currently been producing high yielding crops including cotton and wheat in rotation with chickpeas,” he said.

“Secure water resources include A, B and C Class Barwon Darling unregulated water entitlements (5253ML), Castlereagh unregulated river water entitlements (547ML) and 5041ML of flood plain harvesting (regulated river) water entitlements.”

Mourabie also has irrigation infrastructure including 15,942ML of on-farm storage and is located 50km west of Walgett, fronting the Barwon River.

Plant and equipment is also available to be purchased.
