Latest major farm sales and listings including Miranda Downs

Huge farms worth more than $400 million combined have hit the market and sold this week, including Miranda Downs station and an estate on the Mornington Peninsula.

Woodman Estate Features a five bedroom manor and three one-bedroom chalets.

A spectacular lifestyle property at Moorooduc on the Mornington Peninsula has been listed for sale with an asking price of $11-$12 million.

The 20-hectare property, Woodman Estate, features a five bedroom manor and three one-bedroom chalets which overlook a stunning lake.

The estate was purchased by the Rivett family in 1988, who moved to the area from England.

The Rivetts had run cattle on the property but say it would also suit equestrian pursuits.

The property is being marketed by RT Edgar and expressions of interest will close on July 21.

Meanwhile, the huge station Miranda Downs at Normanton in the Gulf region of Queensland has sold.

The 438,000ha property – owned by Stanbroke Pastoral Co – had an asking price of more than $150 million and reportedly sold for more than $160 million to Peter and Jane Hughes, who owns properties in central Queensland and the Northern Territory.

The sale of the Miranda Downs included 55,000 Brahman cattle.

Stanbroke Pastoral Co is owned by the Menegazzo family who operate seven other cattle stations in the area. The company’s beef is exported to more than 35 countries.

It comes after two huge cattle stations in the Northern Territory, worth about $230 million, hit the market.

The properties, Walhallow Station at Creswell (1-million ha) and Amungee Mungeee (316,970ha) in the Daly Water region are owned by Brett Blundy, the founder of the private investment firm BBRC.
