PRODUCTIVE million dollar farms are still being listed for sale despite the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the most impressive properties to recently hit the market is Barrahead at Mirranatwa located near the Grampians National Park.

The 481ha mixed farming property features a historic homestead, circa 1859, and one of the largest private wetland reserves in the district.

Barrahead has been owned by the Dark family since 1919 and has an asking price of $3.5-$3.85 million.

Selling agent Andrew Dufty said the property was “well suited to a range of agricultural pursuits including wool and sheep meat production, cattle grazing and cropping”.

Barrahead will go under the hammer on September 18.

In NSW the 428ha grazing and cropping property, Woodleigh, has been listed for sale.

Located in Tarcutta, the farm will be sold via expressions of interest with a price tag of more than $9350 per ha.

Selling agent Tim Corcoran from LAWD described Woodleigh as a property with “scenic valleys and creek flats, fertile soils and quality working improvements”.

It will be sold via expression of interest closing September 17.

And a dairy farm at Kirkstall has been listed for sale for $2.8 million.

The 119a ha property – Karaka Fields – has a further 52ha available for a nine year lease and has been owned by Philip and Jo Guthrie for the past 24 years.

The couple are currently running 320-420 crossbred dairy cows on their farm, which is being sold privately.

Meanwhile, Burlington Station at Mount Surprise in Queensland is currently under offer for what is believed to be about $9.5 million – its asking price.

The 46,000ha property has the capacity run 3500 breeders and currently runs 1500 mostly polled Grey Brahman cattle, which were to be included in the sale.
