Historic mixed-farming property Brewarrana listed for sale

The historic NSW property Brewarrana, in the Eastern Riverina, has hit the market.
The 3256ha mixed-farming property has an asking price of $25 million, which includes water entitlements.
Brewarrana, on the bank of the Murrumbidgee River, features a water entitlements including:
A 2916 megalitre Murrumbidgee River General Security Water Access Licence;
A 174 megalitre Supplementary Water Access Licence;
A 10 megalitre Stock and Domestic Water Access Licence.
The property has been owned by Brewarrana Holdings Pty Ltd, a family investor from Melbourne, since 1985.
Brewarrana features 16km of Murrumbidgee River frontage and is 77 per cent arable with 554ha of flood irrigation development.
Accommodation includes the five-bedroom Brewarrana Homestead, built in about 1890, a three-bedroom owners’ lodge, a recently renovated three-bedroom manager’s house, two additional cottages and a 24-person shearers’ quarters.
Purchased in 1908 by William Lenehan, in partnership with Phillip Lock, the property was operated in conjunction with several other pastoral holdings spread through southern NSW and Victoria.
Selling agent Sam Triggs from Inglis Rural Property said with its extensive frontage to the Murrumbidgee River, secure water supplies and even balance of fertile soils, Brewarrana offers exceptional production upside for an incoming purchaser.
“This asset offers various opportunities to add to the enterprise via irrigation of row crops or permanent plantings, which have made a strong movement into the surrounding area in recent years,” he said.
“The strong productive capability and convenient location to markets have made the region highly desirable to a number of corporate farming companies who have invested in the region in recent years, showcasing the quality of the area”
The property is being sold via expressions of interest, which will close on June 22.
