Farms just listed for sale in Victoria and NSW Riverina

Prominent farms have just been listed for sale in recent days, including a tightly held property in the North East. See who owns the latest listings and how much they are expected to fetch.

A MIXED farming property at Moorilim is among the farms just listed for sale.

The 228ha property, Hazelmere, will go under the hammer next month with an asking price of more than $2.4 million.

Hazelmere, owned by Brian and Bernadette Burke, consists of three titles and has been in the hands of the Burke family for 80 years.

Selling agent Kevin Hicks told The Weekly Times Hazelmere had exceptional soil types which were slightly undulating red loams.

“The property lends itself to its existing use of cropping and sheep or could be used for lucerne or fodder production or even horse breeding pursuits,” Mr Hicks said.

Hazelmere will be sold at auction on October 2.

In the North East, Cravensville Park at Tallangatta Valley has come on to the market.

The mixed farming property, owned by the Webb family since 1947, is expected to fetch $7413 to $9884 per ha.

Spanning 691ha, Cravensville Park if being offered for sale a whole or two adjoining parcels – 565ha and 126ha.

Ian Webb told The Weekly Times beef cattle had been run on the property for the past 40 years, with up to 280 Angus cows and calves plus replacements.

The property will be sold under the hammer on October 9.

In southern NSW, the grazing and lifestyle property Dungown has been listed for private sale.

The 35ha property, located at Table Top, has an asking price of $1.8-$1.9 million.

The property, owned by Beryl Barlow and her late husband Lloyd, has views over Lake Hume and has the ability to carry up to 25 cows and calves or 50 steers.

At Bridgewater, a 73ha mixed farming property has been listed for sale via expressions of interest.

The property, located at 81 Peppercorn Lane, is hoping to achieve a price of $8000 per ha, in line with recent sales.

It has been owned by Ken and Trish Rodger for the past 35 years and has 1.2km of frontage to the Loddon Rover.

Mr Rodger said he had been running 35-40 Hereford and Simmental breeding cows on the farm as well as putting 100 acres or so under crop, including lucerne.
