Bowness and Willowmere at Murringo, NSW for sale

An aggregation of properties in a tightly held southern NSW district have hit the market, asking up to $18 million.

A blue-ribbon aggregation of properties in southern NSW has hit the market with asking price of up to $18 million.

The Bowness and Willowmere mixed farming properties, in the tightly held Murringo district northeast of Young, will be auctioned online next month.

The properties, which total 1392 hectares, have been operated as a beef breeding and backgrounding platform in recent years, according to selling agent Richie Inglis of Inglis Rural Property.

He said the location of the properties lended itself to a diverse range of livestock breeding and finishing enterprises on improved and native pastures alongside a winter cropping program growing oats, triticale, canola and wheat for grazing, grain and fodder purposes.

He said Bowness was conservatively carrying 650 breeding cows and progeny and 330ha was planted to triticale and oats with scope to significantly increase production via further pasture improvement and fertiliser application.”

Water is a key feature of the properties, featuring several kilometres of frontage to Top Creek, Macneil Creek and Washpan Creek. Supporting the creek system is a network of 20 dams, many of which are spring fed and a solar pump supplying several troughs around the homestead in smaller containment paddocks.

It comes as an irrigation property at Darlington Point in the NSW Riverina has been listed for sale with an asking price of more than $30 million.

The 2023ha property, Wondaree Farms, is being sold via expressions of interest.

The property’s water entitlements including 1667 megalitres of zone one water and 2681 megalitres of zone two water from the Lower Murrumbidgee Groundwater.
