Southern Districts Cricket Club has made a major signing announcement this past week with the acquisition of two internationals.
Vicky Mansale and Rachel Andrew, both of whom have played for the island nation at international level tournaments, have secured professional contracts with the club per Vanuatu Cricket’s official website.
Andrews is no stranger to Australia having played for the Essendon Maribyrnong Park Ladies Cricket Club while this will be Mansale’s first taste of Aussie cricket.
Both women will play for the Crocs in the DDCC 2025 season in the Women’s Grade competition.
Vanuatu Cricket’s high performance manager Chris Laffan said the opportunity for the two was immense and that this experience would undoubtedly strengthen both of their skill sets.
“This opportunity for both Rachel and Vicky allows them to continue to develop as cricketers and leaders, further enhancing their future performances for Vanuatu,” he said.
“It’s a credit to both players and their recent output at the 2024 T20 World Cup Global Qualifier that has won them playing contracts and the chance to play professionally abroad.”
