A mum died just moments after she enjoyed a magical and fun-filled day out with husband Luke and her two young sons.

Maddison Hicks, 32, suffered a medical episode at home on January 25 and sadly, could not be revived.

Investigations into the cause of her death are ongoing.

“Being a mum was all she ever wanted,” her friend Dani Baxter told The Advertiser.

Ms Hicks, known by her loved ones as Maddi, had two sons — Louie, 4, and Eddie, 2 — with her husband Luke, who she had been with for 16 years.

“They were her whole life,” Ms Baxter said.

“She embraced every moment with them, always taking them to a park or a play date.

“She wanted every single moment of their lives to be fun and full of love. She loved them.”

On the day of her death, Maddi had taken her kids to the playground, and then along with Luke, they enjoyed an “animal experience” where the boys played with baby crocodiles, lizards and snakes at a local shopping centre.

Another friend Kerryn Walsh said Maddi left a void in the western suburbs where she grew up and lived.

“She connected with people, everywhere she went,” Ms Walsh said.

“She was magnetic.”

Ms Baxter said her friend loved to gossip, attend Adelaide Crows games with her mum, plan parties and other people’s weddings.

“She was a bridesmaid at least five times that we can remember,” she said.

Ms Walsh called her friend “fiercely loyal, vibrant and passionate”.

“She was a straight shooter, she told everyone exactly how it was, unapologetically — she was the queen of banter,” she said.

Both Ms Walsh and Ms Baxter said many people described Maddi as “the glue”.

“People keep saying ‘she was the glue that held everything together, what happens now?’,” Ms Baxter said.

Ms Walsh said Maddi had an amazing gift of always having time for everyone.

“Between being the devoted mother that she was but also being so reliable to everybody.”

She is survived by her husband Luke Hicks, her sons Louie and Eddie, her parents Nick and Jane, her eldest brother Jarrad, his partner Holly and their children Elsie and Archie, her older brother Josh, his wife Miri and their Lila, Mitchell and Ollie.
