19-year-old killed at Waterloo Corner after Lexus collides with concrete truck
Major crash detectives are investigating the horrific scenes in Adelaide’s north on Tuesday.
Major Crash officers are investigating a collision between a truck and a Lexus that claimed the life of a young woman'at Waterloo Corner on Tuesday morning
On Tuesday, just after 12.15am, emergency services were alerted to a crash between the concrete truck and Lexus sedan at the intersections of Port Wakefield Highway and McEvoy Road.
The driver of the sedan, who has been identified by 7News Adelaide as a 19-year-old woman named Amy from Buckland Park, died at the scene.
She is the 69th person to die on South Australian roads this year.
Nearby residents reportedly heard a loud bang and the horrific scene on CCTV as the Lexus burst in flames.
Devastated family and friends visited the scene on Tuesday to lay flowers.
The truck driver was taken to hospital where he was being treated for minor injuries and was assisting police with their investigations.
Roads have reopened since the crash after Major Crash officers examined the scene.
The tragedy comes only two days after a young man died after a shocking crash at Waterloo Corner. The 27-year-old, from Elizabeth North, crashed his car into a light pole and then a tree on Sunday.
