Police are ramping up the hunt for a suspect involved in an alleged assault last week, with detectives releasing a computer image of the wanted man.

At 8.10am on Thursday, March 27, a woman was jogging along a footpath that runs parallel to the train line near Coglin St at Brompton.

The woman ran past a man – who was walking in the same direction – and was assaulted soon after, allegedly by the same man.

The woman managed to break free and escaped uninjured.

She alerted police immediately, prompting the Western District patrols to search the area.

Police were unable to locate the suspect.

The man is described as of caucasian appearance, aged in his late 40s to early 50s, 178cm tall with a medium build, a beard and short-straggly black and grey hair.

At the time he was wearing a dark jumper, tan pants and a tan-coloured backpack.

Police are also investigating a separate assault on the same day.

On Thursday, March 27, a woman was walking east on the footpath along Glen Osmond Rd, Adelaide, near the intersection of Hutt Rd when a man approached her from the parklands.

The man allegedly grabbed her with both hands from behind and they both fell to the ground. The woman broke free and left the area.

She was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, with a heavy build, about 170cm tall with black long hair.

He was wearing a sleeveless blue-grey coloured shirt and dark coloured shorts and was in possession of a bright green coloured sleeping bag.

Police urge anyone with information about the incidents to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online.
