Man injured as structure engulfed in flames on Southern Downs
Emergency services have contained a structure fire on the Southern Downs that resulted in a man in his 40s suffering from smoke inhalation.
Emergency services who raced to an out-of-control structure fire on the Southern Downs northwest of Warwick, had the blaze under control within two hours.
Queensland Fire Department dispatched several crews to Leyburn after reports of a structure fire just after 11am on Sunday, July 20, which was extinguished by 2pm.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were also called to the fire after receiving a call that a man in his 40s was suffering from smoke inhalation.
He said when paramedics arrived the man was stable and did not require transport to hospital.
A QFD spokesman said when the first rural fire crew arrived on scene about 11.30am, near the intersection of Millmerran Leyburn Rd, Macquarie Drive, and Delahate Drive, they found a shed fully engulfed in flames.
As of 12pm five crews were on scene, which is about a three minute drive north of Leyburn.
