Investigation in CBD bashing continues as victim released from custody
Police have given an update on their hunt for the group that gangbashed a man in the heart of the CBD and left him with serious head injuries.
Police say they have identified the people responsible for gangbashing a man in the Toowoomba CBD at the weekend and inflicting a serious head injury.
The victim is alleged to have been accosted by the group near the intersection of Russell and Ruthven street about 4.30am on Sunday.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital with “significant potentially life-threatening head injuries”.
He has since recovered and has been released from hospital.
It is understood the man was defending himself when he suffered the injury.
Toowoomba Detective Senior Sergeant Paul McCusker said police are working to locate the offenders and have spoken with the victim.
Anyone with information about the assault, or the whereabouts of the offender is urged to phone Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
