An outgoing young man is being remembered as “one of a kind” following a tragic crash in the Toowoomba Region.

Last week, 18-year-old Alexander ‘Alex’ Shadlow sadly passed following a road accident at Tummaville, near Millmerran, on Friday.

Initial investigations indicate Mr Shadlow was travelling on Owens Scrub Rd, towards Leyburn about 2.40pm, when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

The teenager’s heartbroken family announced the young man’s passing yesterday to a mammoth outpouring of support from his friends, family and strangers.

“Hold your loved ones close, tell them you love them, because life can change in a second,” parents, Mark and Bernadette said.

“We love you Al with all our hearts, you made us proud son, go find those sunsets you loved.”

Tributes have flown for the bright and bubbly teenager from the community.

“We still remember the day you brought him home from the hospital. Your family will always hold a special place in our hearts,” one person said.

“That beautiful boy, red curls, infectious smile, an amazing friend to all. A huge hitter of the hockey ball. A great defender in the goalie box. But more importantly just a bloody nice kid,” another wrote.

The tragic news comes following a brutal few weeks on Darling Downs roads.

An 18-year-old from Killarney, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital last month with life-threatening head injuries following an incident on Acacia and Willow streets.

It is understood the young man fell from a vehicle.

Family and friends are invited to join the celebration of Alexander Shadlow’s life at St Mary’s Church on Friday, July 12.
