2021 best real estate agents: North shore and Mosman

The north shore’s top real estate agents have sold properties collectively worth more than $2 billion in the past 12 months. Meet the region’s top movers and shakers – including two who cracked the nation’s top five.

They’ve sold more than $2 billion worth of property between them in the last financial year alone, earning their place among the top performing real estate agents and titans of the property market.

The Real Estate Business June 2021 rankings reveal 13 real estate agents on the north shore were in the top 100 premier property performers across Australia last financial year, including two who cracked the top 10.

Collectively they sold a staggering 829 properties, clocking up sales of $2.11 billion in the period.

David Walker, the director of Ray White Upper North Shore, said there were several reasons why the north shore stands out in the rankings.

Agents on the list specialise in suburbs including Mosman.

“The north shore is a competitive environment and in my opinion it’s the best place to live in the country – there’s always strong demand for people who want to live and work in the area,” he said.

“A lot of people want to raise a family on the north shore and we see people who’ve moved away coming back to bring up families here – they’re drawn to the schools and the lifestyle.

“During Covid the north shore has become even more attractive – people want space and to be in a green area close to bush walks and trails with places for the kids to run around in.”

Belle Property Lane Cove principal Simon Harrison said the agency recorded its best year on record with 330 homes sold in the last 12 months.

Mr Harrison also set the suburb sale record for Lane Cove.

North shore agents made up 13 per cent of the nationwide rankings.

“We’re seeing demand for all types of properties in the area – everything from one bedroom units to properties at the higher end of the market,” he said.

“One of the great things about Lane Cove is that it’s not just catered to one specific buyer group.”

Asked what advice he’d give to budding agents trying to make their mark in the industry, Mr Harrison said a combination of hard work and client focus were among the keys to success

“A lot of people look at real estate agents and may think it’s easy but it’s a by-product of hard work and long hours. For someone starting out it’s going to take five years,” he said.
