MORE welcome rain fell across Victoria yesterday.

Struggling areas in central Victoria, identified last week by the Bureau of Meteorology as having suffered their driest 12 months on record, had good rain.

Inglewood, where many farmers have been carting stock water for three years, received 13mm in a single downpour during last night.

The district has now had 36mm of rain in the past week.

Bendigo had 11mm from the same storm system last night, to reach 35mm for the week.

Ouyen has the best totals in the northern Mallee, with 6mm yesterday and 13mm for the week.

Ultima recorded 10mm yesterday to reach 22mm for the week, but Swan Hill’s 23mm was the best so far.

Dimboola had 8mm yesterday, with 15mm so far this week and Warracknabeal had 6mm.

St Arnaud recorded 6mm yesterday and 18mm for the week, while Daylesford had 16mm yesterday.

Kerang and Kyabram had 5mm, while Echuca received 4mm to keep the wet week going.

Benalla and Barnawartha had 16mm, with up to 60mm in northeast Victoria in the past week.

Tatong had 18mm and Strathbogie has 14mm to continue the wet weather.

Kyneton and Kilmore had a welcome 10mm and Flowerdale 12mm, with Flowerdale recording 66mm for the week so far. Kyneton has had 46mm this week.

In the west, Dartmoor recorded another 19mm yesterday and has now had 49mm for the week.

Gippsland’s recorded less than 5mm yesterday, but the region has had between 15-50mm over the past week as well.

More rain is forecast for Victoria over the next week. The bureau is expecting the highest falls in the week ahead in eastern areas of the state.
