Farm invasion boasted about on ag official Julie Delforce’s website
A NSW poultry farmer not only had his farm invaded by activists, but it boasted about on a website owned by a Federal Government agriculture official. It shares personal details including his birth place and date.
BRETT Langfield had his NSW family egg farm invaded by activists in May 2013.
The invasion is boasted about on the Aussie Eggs website, co-owned by Federal Government agriculture official Dr Julie Delforce.
Months after the farm was invaded there was an outbreak of bird flu and the Langfield family were forced to destock birds. The activists claim the outbreak wasn’t caused by them.
The Aussie Eggs website also published Mr Langfield’s personal details, and those of his brothers – including birth place and birth date, and a Google satellite image of his property.
Mr Langfield said Dr Delforce’s co-ownership of the website made a “mockery” of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the department in which she works.
“I would have thought (an agriculture official) wouldn’t be trying to denigrate our industry through being part of an activist page or activist organisation,” he said.
“Promotion of people trying to break in … should be shut down.”

Visitors to the site are encouraged to “tell (the eggs farms listed) directly what (they) think”.
Mr Langfield said he’d “love to talk to those people because most don’t understand agriculture”.
“They only understand what activists are trying to push. We would like them to know what we’re doing. None of our industries have anything to hide. They are only being told one side of the story.”
Dr Delforce was stood down from her position this week, following the new revelations exposed by The Weekly Times that she is a co-owner of at least five animal activist websites, including Aussie Eggs, that seek donations to fund farm trespass and livestock theft.
Dr Delforce did not respond to questions from The Weekly Times.
