Animal activist Joey Carbstrong likens farming to terrorism
AN AUSTRALIAN animal activist gaining global attention has slammed farmers for labelling trespassing vegans terrorists.
AN AUSTRALIAN animal activist gaining global attention has slammed farmers for labelling trespassing vegans as terrorists.
This is despite a farmer who was targeted last week saying he feared for his life.
“The word terrorism implies someone is being terrorised and those activists are trying to stop animals from being literally butchered against their will, so who is the real terrorist here?” activist Joey Carbstrong said.
Mr Carbstrong will appear on Sunday Night this weekend, along with Queensland farmer David McNamee, whose feedlot and dairy was invaded by over 100 activists last week.
“Look did they have weapons for a start — are they militant — they are running at me — have they got a stick in their hand — have they got a gun — I was fearing for my life,” David McNamee said.
It comes after The Weekly Times recently revealed activists were receiving up to $2000 a month in public donations, can be fined as little as $1 for breaking biosecurity laws and that a fed-up farmer is acting undercover as an activist in a bid to protect the industry.
Journalist Denham Hitchcock’s full story will air on Sunday Night at 8:30pm on the Seven Network.
It will look into extremists on both sides of the “moral and diet debate” including activists from the UK and US, and even an Australian man who has eaten only red meat for two years.
