Colin Burgess, the original drummer of AC/DC, has died at the age of 77.
The Australian rock band announced the musician’s death via Instagram on Saturday.
“Very sad to hear of the passing of Colin Burgess,” a statement said.
“He was our first drummer and a very respected musician. Happy memories, rock in peace Colin.”
The band’s original members were vocalist Dave Evans, bassist Larry Van Kriedt, drummer Burgess and the Young brothers - lead guitarist Angus and rhythm guitarist Malcolm.
Singer Evans was replaced by Bon Scott a year after the band was founded. Scott would go on to play for the group up until his tragic death aged 33 in 1980.
Malcolm Young sadly died in 2017 at the age of 64 after battling dementia.
Burgess had joined the band in 1973 but a year later was fired after being accused of being drunk on stage. He later claimed his drink had been spiked.
Phil Rudd joined the band in 1975, replacing Burgess as drummer. Shortly afterwards, Burgess had to step in and cover for Rudd briefly due to a broken wrist.
Burgess also played the drums in the Aussie band The Masters Apprentices between 1968 to 1972.
He and other members of the band were inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame in 1998.
Fans took to Instagram to pay tribute to the musician, with one commenting: “Him and Bon are rocking it out in the pearly gates.”
Another wrote: “Rock and rest in peace brother. Thank you for all that energy.”
