A man from southern NSW has been granted conditional bail in the Wagga Wagga Local Court after being charged with stealing 18 Angus heifers.

Police allege the theft occurred between November 2 and 3 at Wantabadgery, 38km east of Wagga Wagga in southern NSW.

At 3pm on December 5, officers arrested and charged Mr Mooney.

Mr Mooney was initially refused bail but was later granted conditional bail and is set to reappear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on January 22.
