Yuulong Estate, near Ballarat, to be sold for circa $4.5m

For the first time in almost a decade, a stunning Victorian homestead is for sale with an asking price of about $4.5m.

Nestled in the foothills of Mount Buninyong, a stunning nineteenth century homestead has hit the market for the first time in around a decade.

For just the fourth time in its history, the Yuulong Estate, which has been owned by just four families since its establishment in 1889, is on the market.

The 68ha country estate is being marketed by LAWD, with a circa $4.5m price tag attached.

LAWD director Erica Semmens said she and her team have received an overwhelming level of interest in the homestead already.

“We have had local groups looking for some expansion land, there have been inquiries from high net-worth individuals and as well as potential buyers looking to acquire the estate and create a boutique Airbnb option for example.

“It is a beautiful property and it is immaculately presented.

“The house has beautiful character and while there is room for people to come in and make their mark, the home really is ready to go.”

In a surprise add-on, the estate is also licenced to hold 10 four-day events per year and has a history of hosting weddings, TV commercials as well as a film set and is a popular photo shoot location.

Located just 17km south of Ballarat, the homestead comprises five bedrooms,

two bathrooms, two grand living rooms with Italian ornate fireplaces and 22ft ceilings.

Alongside the rural lifestyle property, the vendors have been using the land for grazing, carrying 100 head of cattle.

Yuulong Estate also has access to water, through a 113ML groundwater entitlement, three natural springs flowing through the property, a private lake and an average annual rainfall of 775mm.
