New Swadro rakes sell out before they arrive in Australia

Krone’s new Swadro TC 1370 centre-delivery rakes have sold out before they even land in the country in August.

WHEN the first shipment of Krone’s new Swadro TC 1370 centre-delivery rakes lands in Australia, hopefully in August, there’ll be no spare machines available for demonstrations or display at field days.

They’ve all been sold, with dealers quickly filling order books when news of their coming was announced.

Manufactured in Germany and imported exclusively by Kubota Australia, the TC 1370 is aimed squarely at broadacre farmers and contractors.

Krone Australia assistant product manager Nathan Thomas said the machine would sit at the top of the marque’s rakes line-up.

“The Swadro range starts with the single-rotor models at 3.5m to 4.6m working widths, moving into the double-rotor centre-delivery group at 5.7m to 10m, then a double-rotor side-delivery group covering 6.2m to 8.2m,” Mr Thomas said.

“The TC 1370 offers 10.8m to 13.7m working widths and replaces a successful former model, the 1400Plus, which has now been discontinued.

“I doubt very much we’ll have one for demonstrations, considering our customers will want to be putting them to work for the coming hay and silage season.

“One key feature is the new hydro-pneumatic flotation suspension, which allows users to adjust the rotor weight from the tractor cabin instead of using springs on the machine, while another is the integral vibration dampening system with soft-down drop rate control to gently lower the rotors into working position. Rotors can be adjusted individually or together via the monitor, while a standard electric height adjustment of the rotors can also be done via the monitor from the cab.”

Minimum tractor power requirement is 100hp (73kW).

Swath widths can be adjusted by varying the distance between the two rear rotors between 1.4m and 2.2m, there are five tines on the rear rotors instead of four and the centre frame sits higher for greater clearance.

The rake comes standard with larger transport wheels and wider rotor wheels, ensuring less bounce and better contouring. Krone’s Easy-Line driveline has the leading rotors spin 25 per cent faster so material is not roped and presents a better formed windrow, while navigation options include standard established CCI1200 or the existing ISOBUS terminal on the tractor.

“The TC 1370 still has the same proven features of the Swadro range, including a DuraMax steep dry cam track with three-year warranty on the cam track only and a lift tine for a perfect windrow with fewer crop losses,” Mr Thomas said.

Prices are from $145,800+GST.
