Fans of Case IH’s popular utility tractor range, Farmall, are now spoiled for choice with another versatile workhorse joining the stable.
Case IH has just launched its Farmall M Active Drive4 in Australia, which promises plenty of performance, comfort and uncomplicated operation that characterise its larger horsepower tractors.
Aimed at the larger mixed farm operator, horticulturist or specialist livestock producer, it comes in 90hp, 100hp and 110hp models and is a versatile workhorse when called on for a variety of functions involving PTO-driven and trailed machines or front loading and general haulage.
Whether making hay, loading bales, spreading fertiliser or spraying weeds, the Farmall M ActiveDrive 4 is designed to manage it with ease while keeping the operator comfortable.
“The Farmall range represents our smaller horsepower tractors, but these tractors have always been big on performance and features. The Farmall M is a perfect reflection of this and represents customer expectations that our increasingly sophisticated technology isn’t reserved only for our larger tractors, but that it’s also incorporated at the lower end of our tractor line-up,” Case IH product manager Seamus McCarthy said.
The Farmall M falls between the smaller, lifestyle Farmall B 23-57hp tractor and the larger Farmall U 105-115hp series.
It combines Farmall U’s semi powershift transmission, hydraulics and electronic draft control and Farmall JX’s superior engine and front axle design, Mr McCarthy said
One of the most significant features of the new Farmall M is the Active Drive 4 smooth-shifting semiautomatic transmission, providing high levels of power and torque while maximising fuel efficiency.
The ActiveDrive 4 transmission dispenses with a clutch between in-range speeds, and replaces it with buttons for seamless gear shifting, providing 32 forward and 32 reverse gear options with speeds from 0.28km/h to 40km/h.
A powerful S8000 engine is standard in all models, making easy work of heavy loads, along with international standard Tier 3 emission level, four cylinders, 3908cc cylinder volume, turbo-intercooler and high torque values.
The tractors also have electro-hydraulic components to ensure peak efficiency when working with attachments. They have a hydraulic lift capacity of 5400kg, six hydraulic outlets, fender-mounted hydraulic controls, and hydraulic top link. Settings in the electro-hydraulic system can be adjusted to meet all needs, offering superior performance under any condition.
A standard electronic hitch control system ensures precision during cultivation by making it easy to control heavy agricultural attachments.
Electro-hydraulic power takeoff (PTO) clutch, three different PTO speeds of 540, 540E and 1000rpm, and automatic PTO function are features achieving superior performance under any condition.
It is also possible to monitor the PTO speed on the digital indicator in real time during operation. Automatic PTO makes it possible to engage or disengage the PTO at a predetermined hydraulic arm-lever height.
This system is combined with automatic four-wheel drive and differential lock, ensuring easy row-end manoeuvres.
A spacious cab with airconditioning, ergonomic control levers, air-suspension seat and sunroof maximises operator comfort.
With the air-suspension seat, jolting during heavy working conditions is minimised by adjusting the suspension to suit personal preference.
New design and styling include enhanced visibility for the operator and improved accessibility for required maintenance.
The Farmall M 90hp version is priced at $84,779; 100hp at $91,369 and 110hp at $96,369. These prices could vary depending on the tyre specifications.
