Goldacres unveils upgraded G6 Crop Cruiser
Goldacres’ new homegrown Series 2 G6 Crop Cruiser promises both brawn and brain when it hits the market. Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect.
Goldacres’ new flagship model, the Series 2 G6 Crop Cruiser, boasts both brawn and brain, with its rugged exterior masking highly sophisticated electronic and hydraulic technology.
Designed and wholly manufactured in Ballarat for large-scale dryland farming, the G6 is expected to hit the market next month.
It incorporates significant innovations in its G-Hub integrated system, all-new TriTech RivX boom, radar-sensing height control, increased capacities and European-style cabin with external ROPS, filtered air and cruise control.

At its heart is a Cummins Tier 3 6.7-litre, six-cylinder engine rated to 225hp (168kW), matched to an Allison 2500 Series six-speed transmission.
The booms come in sizes from 36-42m, plus a 48m option, all with heavy-duty centre, symmetrical inner wings, one-inch spray lines and simplified plumbing.
The optional ISOBUS-compatible AutoBoom XRT system uses radar-sensing technology to maintain optimal spray height, while the G-Hub tells you everything about what the sprayer is doing, as well as an ability to diagnose and locate faults.
A new external screen controls fill and flush, with electric valves replacing the former ball valves, push-button operation and auto-fill shut-off.
Capacities are up, with the 1150-litre per minute fill pump, new chemical transfer pump, bigger induction hopper and 440-litre fuel tank.

KEY FEATURES
CABIN COMFORTS
The Crop Cruiser cabin, with 320-degree view, features the latest in European styling, narrow-profile four-post frame with external truss ROPS, double-skinned rear wall and extensive sound-deadening. Then there’s the cab’s suspension system, an air-ride seat adjustable seven ways, adjustable steering column, a second seat for a passenger, automatic climate-controlled airconditioning and cooling storage for your lunch or drink bottle.
CHEMICAL TRANSFER
The chemical induction hopper is an integrated system that allows liquids, granular and powdered products to be measured and transferred into the main tank. The 60-litre hopper has both drum and internal rinsing capabilities, with a high-flow 3-inch venturi mounted at the base. Neat chemical transfer is done using a Graco pneumatic twin-diaphragm pump fitted as standard, with tests showing that 40l/min of high-viscosity chemicals can be handled.
EYES ON THE GROUND
The Raven AutoBoom XRT radar boom height sensing technology laughs off potential issues with temperature, spray drift, dirt, dust or mud to maintain optimal spray height from both ground and crop canopy. The system uses compact sensors to monitor the sprayer chassis rate of roll, boom centre position relative to the chassis and boom wing tilt angle. What’s happening is clearly displayed on the G-Hub’s internal screen.
TOTAL CONTROL
The G-Hub integrated control system tells you everything about what the sprayer is doing, as well as an ability to diagnose and quickly pinpoint problems without the need for laptops, specialised service tools or internet connections — and, if necessary, override every machine function. It comprises twin full-colour displays inside, a new external screen to control fill and flush, modules, sensors and switches to manage and monitor the total operation.
SMART SYSTEMS
Goldacres has stayed with Raven’s flow control systems for more than 20 years and the G6 Crop Cruiser carries a Raven Control Module featuring dual nodes that enable two screens to be used simultaneously, 16-boom section control, remote diagnostics via Bluetooth and 3TS Pro compatibility. Goldacres also offers an option for ISOBUS compatibility, with features like 3TS, pump speed readout, ultrasonic boom levelling and steering all able to be monitored by the one display.
BOOM OPTIONS
There are two boom choices — the TriTech RivX covers 36m-42m, while the 48m machine carries a TriTech tri-fold V 48. Both are plumbed to 16 sections with RapidFire single line as one of about 10 plumbing options, Rapid flow and 3TS configurations. Booms also have an auto-fold system, which is controlled through the G-Hub system.
