VirtuAg: Australia’s premier virtual field days are bigger and better
VirtuAg is just what Australia needs: a national online event specifically for primary producers and rural communities.
IN RESPONSE to huge support and positive feedback from farmers and exhibitors, The Weekly Times is today launching a bigger, better VirtuAg event, Australia’s premier virtual field days.
The Weekly Times editor Ed Gannon said VirtuAg’s success showed there was great demand for a national online event specifically for primary producers and rural communities.
“VirtuAg was one of those events that shone in COVID, with readers really appreciating being able to experience a field day from home,” Mr Gannon said. “We discovered that those mainstays of traditional field days – displays and seminars – could work just as well online.
“There is a real need for a national virtual event, not just in COVID times, where people can share ideas and companies can reach the audience making purchasing decisions for farms.”
First launched in May last year to keep farmers and rural communities connected when field days across Australia were suddenly cancelled due to COVID, VirtuAg brings together machinery and equipment manufacturers, service providers, industry experts and ag businesses.
Supported by the Commonwealth Bank, the 2021 autumn VirtuAg event will run until May 11.
CommBank executive general manager of regional and agribusiness Grant Cairns said events such as VirtuAg helped the agriculture sector lead Australia’s economic recovery.
“Regional Australia and Australian farmers continue to show their innovation and resilience,” Mr Cairns said.
“We are very proud to support VirtuAg for the second year – it has created an opportunity for businesses in the agriculture sector to connect and share their innovative ideas, and whether they are ready to grow, invest, diversify or try something new, CommBank is keen to help.”
This year, VirtuAg features a redesigned website, great property listings, more interactive features, insights from ag industry experts and weekly exclusive news stories from The Weekly Times.
An improved marketplace offers producers a place to research, compare and shop for the latest gear, while VirtuAg’s live weekly webinars cover the crucial issues affecting farmers, from water and trade to rural property prices.
“It is a bigger and better experience for visitors, with a new platform and new ideas around content and commercial offerings,” Mr Gannon said.
VirtuAg visitors will find a wide range of exhibitors, from machinery and construction companies to finance and agribusiness specialists, exclusive offers and insights.
