FARM sheds and paddocks will be scoured for materials to be turned into fashion for Agfest’s Ag Artwear competition.

Entrants can create garments made from anything of an agricultural nature from electric fence tape to beer bottles and grain. Youth engagement co-ordinator Ashleigh Reynolds said the competition is a great excuse for visitors to show off their artistic flare.

“It allows for people to create amazing garments that are a reflection of upcycling items found around the place,” Ms Reynolds said.

“The rural and farming focus ties agriculture with creative arts to ensure some weird and wonderful pieces and lots of smiles on the day.”

There are strict rules around what can be used, in that it must have been found on the farm.

The judging will be held on Saturday with three age categories competing for the $100 cash prize.
