Agfest 2017: Mad About Frankie jewellery to be displayed

The 29-year-old’s successful jewellery line came after having her first child, Frankie, last year.
“I am not the type to sit around doing nothing,” Ms Sansom said.
“So I thought I may as well make some jewellery for some extra pocket money and it has really taken off.
“It’s become a form of therapy for me as Frankie hasn’t been the easiest baby in that she hasn’t slept much, so this is something I have done of an evening to relax.”
Mad About Frankie opened in August last year, and Ms Sansom has been run off her feet. The silicone necklaces and bracelets, which she will be displaying at Agfest, have proven extremely popular, especially with older women.
“I was originally aiming for women my age, in their 20s and 30s, as I was trying to be on trend, and funky, and using bright colours,” she said.
“But it has cut across a much wider demographic than I first thought.”
Ms Sansom has since returned to her administration role with the Tasmanian State Government, but only works part-time.
The rest of her time is devoted to looking after her daughter and making jewellery from her Claremont home.
She has also teamed up with her mother Lynne, who is making her own necklaces from polymer clay and selling them under the Frankie label.
