Brazil can now export beef to China

China has lifted a temporary ban on beef from Brazil, which was put in place after a case of mad cow disease was confirmed.

China has lifted the temporary ban on beef from Brazil.

The ban was placed after a case of mad cow disease was confirmed in Para.

The suspension last month was part of an animal health pact previously agreed upon between China and Brazil.

The case was confirmed in a nine-year-old male cow, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) has been working with the Brazilian meat market.

Now, a month later, China will allow trade with Brazil for boneless beef less than 30 months old. In a statement, Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, confirmed the resumption of meat exports to the Asian country.

“I am sure that this is a step for Brazil to advance more and more with the accreditation of plants and opportunities for Brazilian livestock.,” he said.
