An Angus bull has sold for what could be a seasonal high of $110,000 at the Te Mania sale at Mortlake.

Purchased by Dick Whale, lot 49, Te Mania Saville, has gone to a four-member syndicate – Clunie Range Angus, Mandayen Angus, Bongongo Angus and Burungal Grazing Co.

Early sales hit the high note with lot 3 also making a stellar result of $40,000 and lot 2, Te Mania Sportsman S1026, making $22,000.

As the sale progressed lot 21, Te Mania Sibley S709, commanded a hefty $36,000.

The selling results show strength in what has been described as a much tougher selling climate than what was experienced by stud stock producers last year.

A total of 160 lots sold in a 100 per cent clearance to achieve an average of $15,075 at the Te Mania sale on Wednesday.

Volume buyer on the day was Morella Agriculture, Goondiwindi, NSW to secure 11 bulls, twice paying to a high of $18,000.

During the 2022 sale Te Mania achieved an average of $18,437 for 166 Angus bulls in 2022.
