New rural dating app to bring love to farmers
The tyranny of distance can sometimes prove difficult for rural singles looking for love, but a new dating app is aiming to tackle this problem head-on.
Modern dating these days is dominated by dating apps – swiping right, sliding into DMs, and extending your radius time and time again until you find someone you actually like.
But for rural Australians looking for love, what happens when your closest neighbour lives hundreds of kilometres away? Or the fact that your closest neighbour is actually a member of your family?
Mia Ryan, from the Hunter Valley region of NSW, is tackling the problem head-on, developing a world first-dating app designed to match farmers from across all corners of Australia, with no radius setting in sight.
“I’ve lived in regional Australia my whole life and seen first-hand how tough it is to find a partner when you live remotely,” Mia said.
With the launch of the yet-to-be-named app expected in the coming months, Mia is calling on single farmers looking for love to get in contact and help transform modern dating in the bush.
“I want everyone to experience connection, whether it is romantic or platonic. Just because you call rural or regional Australia home doesn’t mean you should be starved of social connection,” Mia said.
