The party-stealing dip board that'll be huge this Christmas

And it’s as fun to make as it is to eat.

If there’s one family event in the annual calendar that sends my overthinking brain into a tizzy, it’s Christmas. Every year I have grand plans of creating a beautiful festive platter of food to share with my family and, honestly, every year I just continuously over-stress and under deliver. There’s been flat pavlovas, sad fruit platters, and even a colourful but wildly underwhelming punch.

I think the thing about Christmas cooking that makes it so tricky is that you not only need to create something delicious, but whatever you make needs to be different to what everyone else is bringing and it MUST be — unquestionably — Christmassy (in fact, the more stars, trees and Santas you can squish on the platter the better). For years, this combination has been something I’ve not quite been able to master.

Until now.

Introducing the ultimate Christmas table addition: the Christmas tree dip board.

The Christmas recipe that ticks all the boxes.

This Christmas tree dip board is great because it ticks all the boxes. It’s delicious, it’s unique, and it’s so festive I wouldn’t be surprised if it started serenading party-goers with a Christmas carol or two. But, the best part about it is that it is SO EASY. It’s also ideal for hot-weather Christmases, when you don’t want to heat your home by cranking up the oven. Better yet? It’s a fun, creative activity too.

You CANNOT screw it up.

And, if I’m saying that, you know it must be true.

Oh so simple, oh so impressive.

Our very own Food Editor (and mastermind behind this cracker of a recipe), Elisa Pietrantonio, has kept simplicity at the forefront when putting this recipe together (THANK YOU ELISA!). Think supermarket-bought avocado and sea salt dip, cream cheese you just need to whiz up in a blender, and thinly sliced baby cucumbers. If you’re anything like me, you’ll get a real kick out of being able to get away with minimal prep whilst achieving maximum wow factor.

This doesn’t mean that it’s lacking in flavour at all though. In fact, you can expect quite the opposite. It’s got the perfect combo of creamy dipping delights and lovely little bursts of freshness. It’s also green so you can rest assured knowing you’ve got your daily greens consumption in (okay, this isn’t technically true but also, it’s Christmas?).

Let’s just take a moment to talk about how pretty it is, yeah?

It would be remiss of me to be raving about this recipe and NOT mention the Christmas tree in the room. I mean, how could you not notice how INCREDIBLE this board looks? I love how Elisa has used a combination of different green hues to create a tree which is just delightful to look at. And the tiny little tomato baubles?

STOP IT.

Don’t even get me started on the pretzel star.

Well, that’s one job sorted.

Now that I don’t have to worry about what I’m taking to Christmas lunch this year, I can tick one MAJOR item off my stress list this silly season. Thank you, Christmas tree dip board.

I can’t wait to blow everyone’s minds.
