The magic ingredient he adds is something that everyone’s got to hand.
The ultimate hummus hack
The ingredient Matt adds is (drum roll please): ICE.
That’s right, when blending the mixture, he says you simply have to “throw a few ice cubes in with the chickpeas.”
According to Matt (and we all know we can trust Matt when it comes to food, right?), it guarantees “a silky texture” every time.
Other hummus tricks
This isn’t the only hack he’s got when making everyone’s favourite dip. He also uses a clever trick to make it “extra creamy.”
When using canned chickpeas, he says you should “drain, rinse and rub gently in a tea towel to remove the skin.” Nifty!
His other must-add ingredients are tahini, olive oil, garlic and lemon. And he insists that “tasting as you go” is crucial.
