How to make the perfect frittata
You can whip up an amazing frittata in three simple steps - and it includes an ingredient everyone is bound to love.
Spoiler alert: potato gems are involved.
To us, frittatas scream spring – they’re light and usually filled with fresh ingredients that make us excited for the warmer days ahead.
Just think, a frittata packed with heaps of greens, creamy pumpkin or protein-packed with salmon – it’s the ultimate spring day meal. And you guys seem to agree too, as ‘frittata’ was our #1 rising search term last month!
While there are many reasons to love frittatas (their affordability and simplicity, to name just two), we’ve all had a frittata fail – it’s dry, sticking to the bottom of the pan, or just flavourless. So if you hate sub-par frittatas or despise standing over the stove waiting for the perfect moment to remove your frittata from the heat (easier said than done), then this frittata recipe we’re about to tell you about is going to make all your frittata dreams come true.
Say hello to the baked potato gem frittata
Yes, you read that right. This frittata is a Caprese-inspired one loaded with cheese and tomatoes. But the best part? It’s surrounded by two rings of golden and crispy potato gems. So if you’re a potato and cheese lover (i.e. a member of the human race) then you’re reallllly going to love this frittata.
This recipe only has three steps… and standing over a stove is not one of them. All you have to do is bake the potato gems, add the egg mixture and then bake again. This is definitely the easiest frittata we’ve ever tried and is a certified crowd-pleaser!
