How to make edible Taylor Swift friendship bracelets
Look what you made our foodies do, Taylor Swift. Here’s how to make a Swiftie friendship bracelet which is yummy and edible.
If you’re one of the lucky ones who managed to snag tickets to Taylor Swift, you’ll know that making and swapping friendship bracelets are a key part of The Eras Tour experience.
The friendship bracelets we’ve made here at taste.com.au are a little bit different. You know we love all things sweet, delicious and most importantly… edible! So we’ve made some friendship bracelets that you can wear and snack on during Taylor’s three-hour-long show.
Why do fans make friendship bracelets for The Eras Tour?
At Taylor’s concerts, fans exchange colourful bracelets with fun messaging or lyrics on them to other fans. The trend is linked to the song ‘You’re on Your Own, Kid’ from Taylor’s latest album, Midnights.
In the song she sings: “So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it. You’ve got no reason to be afraid.”
When the song came out in late 2022, fans came up with the idea to exchange friendship bracelets at the concerts.
How to make edible friendship bracelets
Our food editor Elisa Pietrantonio (who currently has ‘Cruel Summer’ on repeat) has come up with the perfect way to be bejewelled in a way that befits a TS concert… and taste.com.au.
Firstly, Elisa cut mini marshmallows in half and wrote a letter on the flat side of each marshmallow. (Don’t worry, she used an edible marker to write the letters. You can purchase edible markers from cake decorating stores and online.)
Then, she chopped up gummy lollies into small pieces to create colourful ‘beads’ that’ll have you making the whole room shimmer.
Elisa threaded the lolly pieces onto thread using a clean needle. Elisa opted to use Korbond Threaded Needle Kit | 10 pack, as the thread already comes threaded on the needles (if you absolutely hate doing that).
Finally, tie them up, put them on, and shake it off (with a snack on the side)!
