Finally, it’s possible to make your favourite oven recipes in your crockpot… and vice versa.
Food director Michelle Southan says: “We know how much our audience love to slow cook, especially in the winter months. However, we appreciate that you don’t always have the luxury of time. This formula makes it possible for you to speed up the cooking time of your favourite crockpot curry or, alternatively, allows you to take your favourite stovetop or oven dinner and leave it unattended to bubble away in the slow cooker while you’re at work.”
Converting slow cooker recipes for oven
If you have a favourite crockpot recipe, but would love to hurry things up and cook it in a conventional oven, the main thing to take into account is that you will need to increase the liquid by about a 1/2 cup to 1 cup.
Converting oven recipes for slow cooker
Alternatively, to convert your favourite casserole, stew or curry to the slow cooker, decrease the liquid by 1/2 cup to 1 cup.
