How to revive some old-school recipes using an air fryer

From pizza pockets to classic chicken rissoles and cob loaf dip, here are some old-school recipes which can be revived by using an air fryer.

Air fryer lemonade scones

We’ve got all the old-school dishes from your childhood (from fish cakes to pizza pockets to lemonade scones), only this time they’re made in an air fryer.

Using the appliance of the moment means you can shave minutes off the ‘baking’ time and get your nostalgic food fixes quicker than ever.

Taste has compiled a list of some of the best.

Lamb chops

Lamb chops in the air fryer couldn’t be easier and they will be somewhat less fatty than the pan fried version as you won’t be using so much oil and the fat from the chops will drain to the bottom of the frying basket.

A topping of homemade garlic and herb butter will turn these already yummy chops into a thing of wonder.

To pack an extra punch of flavour, you can marinade the chicken up to 1 day beforehand.

Chicken rissoles

The next day you can pop them into a bread roll with your favourite accompaniments for a quick lunch.

We’ve given this traditional quiche recipe a modern upgrade by making it in an air fryer. Whisked eggs, bacon and cheese go perfectly with the tender, flaky pastry.

Allow the quiche to cool down slightly before serving to allow the filling to relax into a silky custard.
