All-star pastry chefs to go head-to-head in Dessert Masters

The cast of the MasterChef spin-off Dessert Masters has been revealed — with some big names set to prove who is truly the master of sweets in Australia.

MasterChef dish leaves judge speechless

Say what you will, but pastry chefs are the MVP’s of any kitchen. Nothing quite compares for home cooks and line cooks more than the pressure of an intricate dessert.

Chocolate tempered to a shattering point, time and temperature sensitive cakes, and the alchemy of whipping simple ingredients together and creating something to make your guests giddy is no small task.

Now, we get to watch Australia’s absolute best of the best battle it out on the newest MasterChef spin-off, Dessert Masters on Channel 10.

Under the watchful eyes of judges Melissa Leong and Amaury Guichon, an all-star cast of fan favourites and celebrity chefs will compete to prove that they are truly the master of sweets in Australia.

The man who once struck fear into the hearts of contestants during MasterChef pressure tests, Adriano Zumbo is jumping out of the pan into the flames as a competitor.

King of the over-the-top cakes, Andy Bowdy will also be in the running alongside Anna Polyviou.

Tarts Anon founder and Heston Blumenthal alumni, Garreth Whitton is throwing his hat in the ring, as is Season 10 sweetheart Jess Liemantara who proved she had the minerals to run with the best of them.

Straight out of the kitchen at the recently open Charles Brasserie comes Rhiann Mead; returning MasterChef prodigies Reynold Poernomo and Kirsten Tibballs know the ropes well, as does baby-faced Morgan Hipworth who appeared as a guest judge on Junior MasterChef (he also opened his restaurant Bistro Morgan when he was just 15 years old).

Tonka and Ritz-Carlton royalty Kay-Lene Tan rounds out the fusion of her Asian heritage and French techniques.

Dessert Masters will be coming soon to Channel 10 and 10 Play.
