Annalise Dalins and Josh Daicos prepare for Brownlow Medal 2024
Still in a “love bubble” and newly engaged to Collingwood star Josh Daicos, Annalise Dalins goes behind the scenes of the couple’s dreamy Santorini engagement.
With a beaming smile and the most sparkling accessory, newly engaged model Annalise Dalins will light up the Brownlow Medal red carpet on Monday night.
Dalins said ‘yes’ to partner, Collingwood star Josh Daicos, just over a week ago when he surprised her with a dream proposal while on holiday in Santorini, Greece.
Daicos hid the diamond ring in his socks after keeping his engagement plan a secret for weeks.
“I don’t know how he did it,’’ Dalins told the Herald Sun.
“That’s what he said was the hardest part about all of it, hiding it.
“He told me that we were going to be in a restaurant but we ended up being in a private area and he said ‘oh how lucky’. I was just blown away by the view at first, I had no idea.
“Then he had some really beautiful words to say. I still had no idea it was happening. We were just so in the moment, we had such a nice trip away, and it was so relaxing.
“Then before I knew it he was on his knee. I remember saying to him after a few minutes — ‘is this really happening?’ He said, ‘yes it’s really happening’.
“It was the biggest and best surprise ever. I just felt so lucky and it felt very surreal in that moment. He did such a good job organising it.”
Dalins and Daicos hopped straight off the plane into Brownlow preparations with Dalins heading to Crown to meet with her team — stylist Paul Versace, dress designer Sam Oglialoro, hairdresser Joey Scandizzo and make up artist Chantelle Baker.
She said the young couple, who met just over three years ago, were still in a love bubble.
“I think that saying when you know, you know — it couldn‘t be more true,’’ she said.
“It does feel so right and perfect. Being in that love bubble and coming home and sharing it with all our family and our friends, we’re looking forward to seeing everyone.
“We waited a few days to share it, we kept it private and told family and a few close friends.
“When we posted it (to social media) we just turned our phones off and went to the beach. It was so beautiful receiving all the messages and all the positive things people had to say about us as a couple and individuals. The support was unbelievable.”
Dalins said all the Collingwood players were excited to share the night with Nick Daicos, one of the Brownlow Medal favourites.
“Hopefully we’ll have a lot to celebrate, we’ll cheer for him and it’s nice we can all go together especially after everything that’s happened with us in Europe,’’ she said.
“I do feel so refreshed and ready to get back into it and what a week to kick it all off.”
