Milk prices 2021-22: Bulla raises opening range for third time before deadline
Bulla were the first to announce a 2021-22 opening price, then the first to step up — sparking a trend. Now, they’ve passed another milk milestone.
Bulla have announced a third consecutive rise to their opening price as dairy processors approach the final fortnight before the start of the 2021-22 season.
The Colac-based processor today lifted its opening price range to $6.85/kg-$7.35/kg milk solids, up 15c/kg across its four supplier price categories.
In a letter issued to suppliers, Bulla dairy general manager Rohan Davies confirmed the boost from the previously set figure of $6.70/kg-$7.20/kg milk solids.
“Our family business is built on the consistent supply of fresh quality milk from across Victoria and we are committed to remaining competitive at the farmgate to secure the milk supply needed to grow our business into the future,” he said.
“Pricing will continue to be reviewed throughout the year and step ups will be considered based on business performance and market conditions.
“Pricing will automatically be updated in our system for suppliers who have already returned their 2021-22 contracts.”
Bulla was the first processor to reveal its 2021-22 opening price in mid-April at $6.40/kg-$6.90/kg milk solids.
It then revised that figure in May to $6.50/kg-$7.00/kg milk solids before a second revision last week at $6.70/kg-$7.20/kg milk solids.
