Australian Dairy Conference 2025 to be held on Gold Coast

More than 1500km separate Kaarimba and the Gold Coast. But dairy farmer Monique Bryant has her sights set northward.

SPC reveals global plans following major food merger

From riverside along the Goulburn to surfside at Surfers Paradise, Monique Bryant is looking forward to a subtropical twist on dairy.

Based at Kaarimba, 30 km north of Shepparton, Mrs Bryant has been named as the programming chairwoman of the 2025 Australian Dairy Conference, to be held next year on the Gold Coast.

“I have been involved in the dairy industry since I was nine years old,” she said.

“After completing my agribusiness degree, I worked in the finance and dairy industry for awhile. My passion and desire were always to have my own farm.

“Luckily for me I married a dairy farmer, and we had the opportunity very early on the purchase my husband’s dairy farm. We have been able to grow our business ever since despite the many challenges we have faced.”

And the main challenge for the Bryants this season would have to be the rapidly expanding green drought.

“Seasonal conditions in Northern Victoria are dry,” Mrs Bryant said.

“The lack of rain and frosts have caused production losses particularly on dry land areas. “Irrigated areas have continued to perform well. The cooler day temperatures have certainly helped rye-grass paddocks to continue to perform well in both grazing and fodder production platforms.”

Registrations are now open for the 2025 ADC, scheduled for February 12 to 14 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Dairy is a fantastic industry to be involved in,” Mrs Bryant said. “If you find good people to surround yourself with and are prepared to learn and do the hard work there are lots of opportunities for you.”
