David Goodfellow new managing director of CBRE Agribusiness
David Goodfellow has run a number of rural asset operations in Australia. Find out what his new role will be.
RURAL asset manager David Goodfellow will soon begin a new job heading CBRE Agribusiness.
Mr Goodfellow takes up the position of managing director of CBRE Agribusiness on February 1, rebuilding the rural real estate business after the loss of a number of personnel, including Danny Thomas, whose contract expired late last year.
Mr Goodfellow will be based in Melbourne but be responsible to CBRE’s agribusiness operations across Australia and New Zealand.
He said he was particularly keen on rebuilding the agribusiness team at CBRE.
“I will do a little bit of the transaction work from an assistance point of view but my job is about managing and growing the team,” he said.
Mr Goodfellow left AustOn, a subsidiary of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, in November, 2019, to set up The Clearbrook Group, an asset management group currently in the process of acquiring three Western District farms to run as a single grain operation.
He will remain chairman of Clearbrook and appoint a general manager to look after its day-to-day operations.
“I will continue to keep an eye on the strategy at Clearbrook,” he said.
Mr Goodfellow previously worked as chief executive of Chinese firm Rifa Salutary Pastoral Company, which ran a beef operation.
Prior to that, he was general manager of Elders Rural Services and also spent four years running Paraway Pastoral Company for Macquarie Infrastructure.
