Danny Thomas resigns from CBRE to go farming
CBRE rural real estate guru Danny Thomas has quit CBRE. Here’s what’s in store for him now.
RURAL real estate guru Danny Thomas has resigned from CBRE and will take time out from selling real estate to concentrate on his farming enterprises and do a bit of “navel gazing”.
Mr Thomas resigned from CBRE about two weeks ago, after eight years with the company but would continue until the end of the year to wind up existing business deals.
“I am going to have a little bit of a rest for a while,” he said.
“I will concentrate a bit more on my farming stuff and do a bit of navel gazing.”
Mr Thomas has been building a beef business with Australia’s biggest grain grower John Nicoletti.
They have bought a number of properties in northern Victoria to run Angus and Wagyu cattle under Ulupna Pastoral Co Pty Ltd.
Mr Thomas denied industry speculation he was going to join ex-CBRE colleagues at new real estate business, LAWD Pty Ltd.
LAWD was established in March this year by former CBRE real estate agent Col Medway, former Hassad Australia and AgCap chief executive officer John McKillop and Melbourne real estate agent Peter Sagar.
They are all directors and the major shareholders of the company.
Mr Sagar and his wife Kristen were previously partners in Mr Thomas’ Ulupna Island beef business.
