‘Have a baby’: De Minaur and Boulter’s cheeky social media acts

Engaged tennis power couple Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter have set pulses racing after an intimate exchange on social media.

Demon one win away from title

Could tennis glamour couple Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter get any cuter?

Aussie De Minaur and Brit Boulter have been dating since 2020, quickly becoming a favourite duo with tennis fans, with that adoration soaring following their engagement just before Christmas last year.

Part of their popularity is the fact they regularly exchange cheeky moments in press conferences and on social media.

When De Minaur posted a photo of his bulked up biceps prior to his opening round clash at this year’s Australian Open, Boulter commented: “Stop trying to thirst trap, you have a fiancee.”

See, charming and funny.

But they may have taken things to a whole new level with their latest comments on X.

It began with 28-year-old Boulter, who posted a simple message on the platform on Sunday.

“Get married = win slam,” the world No. 24 wrote.

“Have a baby = win 500.”

She finished it off with no less than nine ‘taking notes’ emojis, suggesting she’s taking her tennis study very seriously.

Fans quickly deciphered the somewhat cryptic tweet.

American Madison Keys won this year’s Australian Open, having married her partner and coach Bjorn Fratangelo in November last year.

The second line refers to Belinda Bencic, who claimed WTA 500 tournament the Abu Dhabi Open on Sunday, her first tournament victory since the birth of her daughter Bella in April last year.

So the equation is simple, according to Boulter.

She simply needs to marry the Demon, with their wedding planning surely now underway, and have a baby with him to tick off a couple of huge career goals on the court.

For the record, Boulter has already claimed a WTA 500 title, taking out the San Diego Open in 2024, one of her three career titles to date.

She needs to improve at grand slam level, with a couple of third round appearances at Wimbledon her best results to date.

But this story gets a whole lot better after De Minaur replied to her tweet.

“You got any ideas you wanna share with me???” he wrote, with sweat smiling and cry laughing emojis.

Boulter’s post has had almost 8,000 likes at the time of writing, 370 retweets and 68 comments, none better than the reply from De Minaur.

The Aussie is in the form of his life, scheduled to take on world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the Rotterdam Open early on Monday morning AEDT.

The 25-year-old will hit a career-high ranking of sixth when the new standings come out, moving past both Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev following his exploits in the Netherlands.

De Minaur is also closer to a grand slam title than his fiancee, reaching the quarter-finals of his last four major appearances, capped by his best Australian Open campaign to date last month, when he lost in the final eight to eventual champion Jannik Sinner.

Fans were having a field day online after the delightful exchange between the star pair, including a series of replies to Boulter.

“Win Wimbledon Katie, this is all that matters this year!” was one reply on X.

“We’ve finally discovered the secret to a successful tennis career!” suggested another.

“Have twins = win 1000?” quipped another fan.

“De Minaur Jr is coming!” declared a fourth.

Fans also commented on De Minaur’s reply, with one gushing: “Alex hahahaha this is so cute.”

Another stated: “Looks like you’re going to be busy – on and off the court. Best of luck on both endeavours.”

Another wrote cheekily: “Such a darling she is. Katie be hinting.”

In December, the couple posted a gorgeous photo of themselves both beaming and with Boulter sporting a huge diamond on her ring finger.

The post had another cheeky caption: “We’ve been keeping a small secret.”

There was quickly an outpouring of love on social media to that news, along with some ribbing from friends of the power couple.

The Australian Open’s official account tweeted: “Game, set, and engaged! Congrats, Katie and Alex.”

Fellow tennis pro Storm Sanders wrote on Instagram: “Amazing!! Congrats.”

Thanasi Kokkinakis also echoed the thoughts of some by writing: “About damn time.”

We’ll be following both their careers on the court, and their social media posts off it, to see if Boulter’s plans come to fruition.
